San Rafael

This is out of order but you get the idea (we were here before Valparaíso). We spent a few days in this Argentine wine town and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We drank wine, wandered, and spent a day in the canyon land nearby. We tried to go to a festival/beauty pageant that is basically the one happening of the year in this little town but it got rained out by this incredible thunder storm and we walked home 2 miles in the pouring rain and insane thunder and lightening. Definitely memorable. And a cool region. VERY flat and VERY dry.

Our Valentine's Day (wonderful) picnic lunch
A working sundial (which was nice because we were clockless that day).
It even tells you the season!
Casks and casks and casks of wine
Those are ALL bottles of champagne!!! That's alotta bubbles!

Valparaíso, Chile

We are loving it here in this mazey, colorful bay town. It's been likened to San Francisco (favorably). The food is wonderful and really cheap. We've had some of the best meals here we've been saving money and David has been playing Canasta with me tons. What more could a girl ask for?

There are murals everywhere!

I keep wondering what they could
possibly be bringing in all those crates!

A.K.A. The Greatest and Best Town in All of America

Bariloche

This town is in northern Patagonia and we enjoyed it so much that we stayed there for about twice as long as we'd planned. It was the last place Jenna came with us before she went home and we hiked, biked, gawked, cooked, and generally enjoyed ourselves in and around this town in the "Lakes District" of Argentina. Pretty obvious name, right? This is one of my favorite places I've been in Argentina so far and the three of us had a ball with some of the friends we made in what was also one of the best hostels I've stayed at down here.

We went with our British friends, Paul and Ben from Liverpool
and Leeds, respectively. If you've heard David's Ringo impersonation
you can start to imagine how fun that was : )

Little Houses!

You wouldn't believe how many of these you start seeing when you're really looking. I just wish I'd videotaped David trying to get into them. Hilarious and oddly embarrassing at the same time!

Kelli Jo!

We had a great time when Kelli was here. We ate delicious food in Buenos Aires (noticing a trend?), saw a lot of the best things in the city - according to our assessment, anyway, and then escaped to the beach, which ruled.

In hindsight, though, it's annoying having a sister who's so much more photogenic than you : ).

Bill and Marcie Uruguay

We had such a good time with Bill and Marcie in Uruguay! After a couple of days in the city, we hopped on a ferry and hit Montevideo for an evening before heading to a gorgeous estancia (ranch) a couple of hours of the capitol city for a day of wonderful food, relaxation, a million stars, horseback riding, etc. The estancia was owned by a very well-off family for almost a hundred years and they built all kinds of nice white-washed buildings that are now enjoyed by people like us. Thanks!
